What is the meaning of “Tetra” in
our logo?
In the past, fire was believed to be a three sided “triangle” consisting
of heat, oxygen and fuel. In recent scientific discovery it has been
discovered that fire has a fourth dimension which is the “uninhibited
chain reaction”. This fourth dimension is represented by a four
sided geometric figure known as the “Fire Tetrahedron”, hence
the name “Tetra
Investigations”.
What is a Certified Fire Investigator or CFI?
An individual who is a Certified Fire Investigator has completed the
highly regarded program through the International Association of Arson
Investigators (IAAI). The title of CFI is the most difficult to acquire
and also the most difficult to retain. A CFI must qualify with a combination
of training, experience and education to take a supervised written exam
that is conducted regionally throughout the country and the world. Once
certified, the retention of this certification is accomplished by ongoing
training, education and experience conducting fire scene investigations
to ensure the highest level of professionalism in the field of fire
investigation.
